Set aside Saturday June 2nd!

Time: 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Place: Larison’s Corner Presbyterian Church

The members of Larison’s Corner Presbyterian Church, a.k.a. your friends and neighbors at the United First Presbyterian Church of Amwell, will once again host their Annual Pig Roast & Homemade Ice Cream Social, number six, but whose counting? Lucky prior attendees can personally attest to the delicious offerings they enjoyed, including: fresh roasted pork, homemade cole slaw, beans, rolls, homemade ice cream (certified fantastic by those fortunate souls in attendance at prior events), homemade cookies, and lemonade.

Where can you and your family get a hearty meal like that for only $13.00 for each adult, $6.00 for each child under 12, and have your curious 5 year old roll around in the grass when he or she is not sampling the vittles  for free? What a deal! Outdoor seating under a tent or indoor seating will be available.

A portion of the proceeds will go toward the Flemington Area Food Pantry. Have a can of something you no longer use in your cupboard? Bring it along. Better yet, bring two or three. Non-perishable food donations gladly accepted for this worthy cause.

All the blessings we enjoy are Divine deposits, committed to our trust on this condition, that they should be dispensed for the benefit of our neighbors. John Calvin

Think about it: No cooking that night! Celebrate the advent of summer with congenial conversation under a tent with your family and friends around a sumptuous picnic, and– best of all–you are helping your neighbors in need with donations to the Flemington Area Food Pantry.

Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can.  John Wesley
